This week, Vanderbloemen’s own, Chantel McHenry, speaks with Teresa Hairston, founder of Gospel Today magazine, publisher, and author. Over 23 years ago, Teresa launched a simple newsletter for the Gospel music community, which grew into Gospel Today—now the longest-running and most widely distributed urban-Christian periodical. She also founded the Gospel Heritage Foundation, which teaches worship as a lifestyle, and now works in publishing with Books2LiveBy.
In this conversation, Teresa shares:
- Her journey into publishing as a Black woman and the challenges she faced in both the secular industry and the Black church.
- How she persevered through opposition to fulfill her calling.
- The importance of understanding leadership seasons and transitioning well.
- Insights from her book Unstoppable.
This conversation is for anyone seeking encouragement in pursuing their calling, as well as those interested in publishing and storytelling.
