Rick brings over 34 years of pastoral ministry experience to the executive search team at Vanderbloemen. He has served in a wide range of church roles and contexts in Illinois, Indiana, Missouri and Texas as a lead pastor, teaching pastor, mission mobilization pastor, campus pastor, and spiritual formation pastor, as well as education and student ministries. Rick has served in several “turn around” churches that he helped step into seasons of emotional health and exponential growth.

Rick is also a catalyst in ministry and theological training as a professor and coach with The Billy Graham Center at Wheaton College, Bethel University, Houston Baptist University, Global University, and Vineyard Leadership Institute. He has also served as guest faculty at ministry training Schools in Africa, Asia, and Central America.

Rick holds degrees from Evangel University (BA); Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (MA); and George Fox University (DMin). He is a certified christian leadership coach (CCLC) and holds ACC credentials with the International Coaching Federation.

Rick’s passion for the church coupled with his education and experience offer a perspective that helps churches and ministries connect with people who fit their culture well.

As a member of the executive search consultant team, Rick works directly with our clients, guiding them through the extensive search process to find the right staff for their church. Rick’s focus is discovering the DNA of our clients and matching them with candidates that fit.

Rick and his wife, Michelle, live in the Chicagoland area. They have three grown children raising their own families in Indiana. They enjoy travel, unique restaurants, movies, live sports (Go Bears, Irish, Chelsea FC and Cardinals – yeah, the St. Louis Cardinals!) and especially hanging out with their kids and grandkids.
