At Windy City Community Church, we are a diverse, welcoming community committed to living out our faith in Christ. About the Director of Worship and Media
Our mission at Windy City Community Church (WCCC) is to guide people to joyfully experience and radiate the love, freedom, and fullness of Jesus. We are searching for a Director of Worship & Media to join our team. This person will direct a worship team and lead a contemporary worship set on Sunday mornings, as well as special events and other church gatherings. Second, this person will oversee church communications and social media. This person will have a significant voice in renewing the direction and shaping the future of WCCC church-wide.

The Director of Worship and Media’s responsibilities include:
- Worship
- Leading contemporary worship services on Sunday mornings and other events with a worship band and accompanying yourself with a musical instrument
- Managing the worship band which is comprised of congregational volunteers with varying levels of musical capability
- Developing current team members and growing the team
- Managing the schedule for which band members perform during each service
- Overseeing the purchase, installation, and maintenance of sound and video equipment
- Overseeing the budget for your department
- Fostering a community of cooperation and excellence in the Worship team
- The ability to write and arrange music is preferred, though not required
- Media
- Integrates video, loops, movie/TV clips, sound, lights, etc. within worship services.
- Writing engaging posts, developing visual content, and crafting compelling captions for the website and social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
- Responding to comments and messages on social media and fostering positive interactions with followers.
- Managing social media campaigns to target specific demographics and achieve marketing objectives.
- Additional Responsibilities
- Working directly with the Senior Pastor and other staff members to contribute to the spiritual growth of the community and current goals of the church.
- Establishing relationships with members of the congregation.
- Contributing to the Pastoral vision of the church, such as:
- Seeking opportunities to serve the church and local community.
- Implementing strategies for reaching newcomers.
- Requirements:
- A growing relationship with God through Jesus Christ
- A vibrant, energetic, and outgoing personality
- Agreement with our Doctrinal Statement and Philosophy of Ministry
- Computer literacy and familiarity with Apple computers and products
- A bachelor’s degree (in Bible, music, or graphic arts) with some Biblical training is preferred but not required

Education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Vocal and Instrumental Experience
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Musical Instrument Proficiency: Proficient in guitar or keys, with the ability to play a second instrument being a bonus.
- Vocal Ability: Comfortable as a primary vocalist and able to lead worship vocally.
- Technological Acumen: Familiar with using click tracks and tracks in worship settings. Experience with in-ear monitors/stage monitors.
- Technical Competency: High competency in worship technology and sound equipment. Able to support and assist beyond basic worship tech needs, including troubleshooting and helping with technical aspects of services.
- Chord Chart Proficiency: Comfortable using chord charts for song selection. Experience with Planning Center Online (PCO) for song scheduling and coordination.
