About the Upper School Principal:

The Upper School Administrator plays a vital role in supporting the Head of School by overseeing the policies, regulations, and procedures that govern The King’s Christian Academy’s Upper School (grades 9-12). This position requires strong leadership skills, a commitment to academic excellence, and the ability to cultivate a Christ-centered educational environment. The Administrator will be responsible for ensuring that students receive a rigorous and well-rounded education while promoting spiritual growth, character development, and a positive school culture.

The Upper School Principal’s responsibilities include:

Leadership and Administration:

  • Implement and uphold school policies, procedures, and regulations to maintain a safe and effective learning environment.
  • Collaborate with the Head of School on strategic initiatives, school-wide goals, and educational improvements.
  • Supervise and support Upper School faculty, providing guidance, professional development, and performance evaluations.

Academic Oversight:

  • Ensure the delivery of a high-quality academic program aligned with the school’s curriculum standards and Christian values.
  • Oversee student academic progress, including assessments, grading policies, and report cards.
  • Assist in curriculum development and implementation to promote academic rigor and student engagement.

Student and Community Engagement:

  • Engage with parents and guardians regularly, providing clear communication and support regarding student progress and school activities.
  • Foster a positive school culture by promoting spiritual and character development.
  • Oversee student discipline, ensuring that all actions align with the school’s values of grace, accountability, and growth.

Education and experience

  • Required – Bachelor’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field
  • Strongly Preferred – Master’s Degree: Preferably in Education Administration, Educational Leadership, or a similar discipline. 
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of teaching or administrative experience, preferably in a Christian school setting.
  • Proven experience in academic leadership and student management.ld.

  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic Planning: Experience in strategic planning and development.
  • Technology Skills: Proficiency in computer and web-based tools.

Personal characteristics and qualifications

  • Personal Faith and Commitment: The Upper School Principal must provide public testimony to their personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and reaffirm annually in writing their complete agreement with and belief in the School’s Statement of Faith.
  •  Character and Conduct: Must exemplify the Lord Jesus Christ in all aspects of life and maintain a reputation that does not bring reproach upon the School’s testimony.
