The Role: Operations Director
Meet St. Paul's Leaskdale Church:
St. Paul’s Leaskdale started in 1862 as a rural congregation that served the local farming population. After WW2, the church declined for several decades as young families left family farms to work elsewhere. A small pocket of senior saints faithfully prayed, asking God to stir their hearts and the community's.
Over 30 years ago, God began to answer those prayers. The congregation grew as not only the local community but the surrounding communities heard, received, and experienced the good news about Jesus. A new 20,000 sq ft facility was built in 2006 and continues to house a growing congregation and serve as a gathering place for sporting and community events.
St. Paul’s Leaskdale is known for its welcoming community and offers a variety of programs and services, including Sunday worship services, Bible studies, youth and children’s ministries, and community outreach initiatives.
Jesus is central to our church, and we long to understand and experience him together. We continue to stand amazed by his love, the cross, and the fantastic hope of the resurrection.
About the Operations Director:
The Operations Director at St. Paul’s Leaskdale Church will lead and direct the central systems, structures, and teams that maximize the operating effectiveness of St. Paul’s Leaskdale (SPL) Church, including Finances, Facilities, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Office Management.
The Operations Director Responsibilities Include:
Leadership

Work with the Senior Leadership Team to clarify vision and advance strategy.

Lead all operational areas of SPL Church (i.e. Finances, Human Resources, Facility, Information Technology, and Office Management)

Recruit, equip, and empower volunteers to sustain the operational aspects of ministry

Lead out of a growing personal relationship with Jesus, modeling healthy family and friend relationships, practicing personal spiritual disciplines, participating in a small group, serving regularly, giving faithfully, and developing one-to-one evangelism relationships
Human Resources

Oversee human resources functions (salaries, benefit packages, hiring/exiting procedures, performance appraisals, professional development process, job descriptions, employee manual updating, vacation and leave) with the Executive Pastor and Personnel Committee

Ensure appropriate onboarding processes for all new employees
Finances

Prepare the annual church budget with the Executive Director, staff, and Finance Team

Monitor all church financial statements monthly (Balance Sheet, Income Statements, Cash Flow)

Ensure staff and volunteer leaders receive regular financial reports that enable them to manage their ministry areas

Oversee the management of an annual financial audit

Oversee organizational and building insurance policies
Facility

Oversee the maintenance, custodial, property care, security, and building usage scheduling and rentals

Oversee the management of SPL’s kitchen, including purchasing supplies, restocking, equipment maintenance, safety procedures, and volunteer training

Oversee funeral arrangements and volunteer support teams
Information Technology

Ensure that staff members are equipped with the necessary technology for theirwork

Ensure that all communication systems (phone, internet) are supported

Champion and oversee the management of the church database (Planning Center)

Ensure that the church office runs smoothly and efficiently, including office equipment and communication systems
What You Bring:

Education & Experience

2+ years of relevant experience in a related field

A degree in communications, business administration, or a related field is preferred

Experience with Planning Center is optimal
