About the Kids Director

The Kids Director will provide visionary leadership and curriculum support to the Evangel Kids Department, ensuring the smooth and effective operation of all current and future campuses. This role serves as the primary point of contact for both internal and external operations related to Evangel Kids. The Director will also offer strategic guidance and high-level curriculum management to Kids Coordinators, empowering them to deliver impactful programs and foster a nurturing environment for children.

The Kids Director’s responsibilities include:

  • Oversee all programming and ministry for children, infants – 5th grade, including Sunday mornings, Sunday nights, Wednesday nights, VBS, and special events
  • Oversee all operations of Evangel Kids, ensuring the success of the Sunday experience
  • Be in charge of all Evangel Sunday experience, Infant-5th grade
  • Serves as a management layer for the Evangel Kids staff
  • Work with the Dream Team Coordinator to build the Evangel Kids Dream Team
  • Very visible with children and families of Evangel Kids, as well as the Evangel Kids Dream Team
  • Have Daily contact with members of the Evangel Kids team, Evangel Pastors, and staff members
  • Writing and brainstorming new material for Family Devotionals
  •  Writing small group material questions
  • Copying and distributing all curriculum materials to the campus coordinators
  • Directly oversee security and communication teams
  • Respond to emergencies/urgent issues as they arise
  • Respond to emails and phone calls within a 24-hour time frame
  • Answer general phone calls about Evangel Kids inquiries and direct all incoming calls to the correct Evangel Kids staff members
  • Host visiting churches that are observing our children’s services
  • Coordinate with departments and oversee special events through completion
  • Participate in weekly department meetings to discuss enhancing the Sunday experience and upcoming events
  • Running miscellaneous errands for Evangel Kids
  • Researching & implementing upcoming curriculum during the seasons we use out-of-house material

What you bring

Education and experience

  • High School Diploma Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • 2+ years of children’s ministry experience serving 100+ kids weekly
  • 3+ years leading dream teams (volunteers) and developing leaders

Personal characteristics and qualifications

  • Problem Solver
  • Ability to supervise multiple projects effectively
  • A love and calling toward ministry to children and families
  • Ability to learn and use Planning Center Online software
  • Experience and high proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills with a particular emphasis on follow-through and attention to detail
  • Ability to think and act independently with a high degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
  • Ability to ask appropriate questions, probe for understanding, and work in collaboration with others to achieve desired results.
  • Must be a strong communicator with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledgeable and functional in technical writing, including consistent and correct use of tense, grammar/spelling, and terminology that is interesting and varied
  • Strong proofreading skills to produce error-free documents
