PODCAST | Racial Reconciliation In Academia And The Church With Dr. Tubbs & Dr. Rivers
By: Vanderbloemen
In today’s episode, Chantel McHenry, Director of Special Initiatives and Operations & Executive Search Consultant here at Vanderbloemen talks with Dr. Jacqueline Rivers and Dr. David Tubbs of the Center for the Study of Christianity and the Black Experience at The King’s College in New York City.
Dr. Rivers is the executive director of the Seymour Institute for Black Church and Policy Studies and senior fellow of the Center for the Study of Christianity and the Black Experience, and Dr. Tubbs is the Associate Professor of Politics at The King’s College.
Dr. Rivers and Dr. Tubbs share how the Center is approaching racial equality. They explain how as an academic Christian leader, it’s critical to create opportunities for students to educate themselves on the background of racial tensions in the United States. These opportunities help build unity, empathy, and understanding amongst new generations of believers. Dr. Rivers reminds us to prayerfully listen, educate, and approach racial conversations as believers while remembering that Jesus is our eternal hope for justice.
