PODCAST | Pursuing Advocacy and Understanding for Post-Pandemic Mental Health with Heather Palacios
By: Vanderbloemen
As we begin to come out of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are seeing a more critical need to pay attention to mental health and wellness. In order to learn more about this, our founder and CEO William Vanderbloemen had a conversation with Heather Palacios of WondHerful.
Heather is a graduate of Judson University, where she received a BA in Business Management. She is the founder of “WondHerful,” a mission dedicated to mental health and suicide extinction through blog posts, social media posts, and an eclectic speaking circuit that includes churches, businesses, prisons, police stations, schools, halfway houses, and psychiatric wards. Heather is a suicide attempt survivor, and her goal is to be a good steward of her weakness and keep others from taking their lives.
Heather shares the details of her own journey, and discusses the yellow and red flags to look for in yourself and others, as well as the three tangible essentials for maintaining your mental wellness. She also shares her husband’s advice for loving someone who is suicidal or struggles with mental health.
