The Key To A Seamless Pastoral Transition with Pastor Brian Hunt [Podcast]
By: Vanderbloemen
The Vanderbloemen Leadership Podcast brings you interviews from leaders across the theological spectrum of the global Church. Our goal is to bring you thought-provoking interviews that encourage you, challenge you, and help you build, run, and keep great teams.
In today's episode of the Vanderbloemen Leadership Podcast, William talks with Brian Hunt, Lead Pastor of Crossroads Grace Community Church in Manteca, California.
Brian is the Lead Pastor and Visionary for Crossroads. He is the primary communicator and is passionate about seeing people apply their faith in their daily lives while seeking to win the next generation to Christ.
Before being led into full-time ministry, Brian served in a few varying roles. He began his career as a professional baseball player and entered the business world for several years after that. From there, he went on to study theology disciplines at Lincoln Christian University and joined Parkview Christian Church in Illinois as a Campus Pastor. He served there until 2015 when he became Lead Pastor of Crossroads Grace Community Church.
Brian joined Crossroads Grace in place of the founding pastor who had served for the previous 30 years. Thankfully in his case, the church had already been preparing for this succession and was ready for change, making the transition much smoother.
Brian talks with William about:
- Transitioning from a staff position to a lead pastor position
- Learning to lead a team that you didn’t hire
- Contributing factors of a church’s ability to receive change
- Lessons to be learned from being a staff pastor
- How to determine when it’s time for change
- Advice for pastors about to make a long distance move
