Meet Christianity Explored Ministries USA
Christianity Explored Ministries (CE-USA) equips God’s people in evangelism. They aim to help people meet Jesus in the pages of Scripture so that they love, live, and tell the Good News. In other words, Christianity Explored helps people explore Jesus in the Bible in a relational environment.
Christianity Explored is a part of the worldwide ministry that originated out of All Souls Church, Langham Place, in central London, England. As one of many legacy ministries of the late Dr. John Stott, Christianity Explored is now being used in more than 140 countries and has been translated into at least 60 languages.
Christianity Explored Ministries continues to create new resources and strategies for global gospel impact. The team has developed four proven evangelistic/discipleship series: Christianity Explored, Life Explored, Discipleship Explored, and Hope Explored.
A key role in a pivotal time
Christianity Explored Ministries was seeking their first chief executive officer for the Americas. The CEO would play a key role during a pivotal time. Seeking to meet ambitious goals for the next several years, Christianity Explored needed a committed Christian who could manage the pressure and many responsibilities necessary for the ministry to grow. A successful hire would enable Christianity Explored to expand the existing US operation to encompass activities throughout North and Latin America.
Beyond leading the ministry activities of the organization in Canada, the United States, and Latin America, the CEO would play an essential part in expanding the reach of the ministry across the globe by developing strategic partnerships with like-minded global organizations based in the Americas.
Christianity Explored needed a winsome motivator and leader who would not shy away from a challenge, while proving to be flexible, enthusiastic, and highly adaptable/responsive. For a position with this scope of responsibilities and qualifications, finding the right person can feel almost impossible.
Our Senior Executive Search Consultant Brian Jensen worked closely with the team at Christianity Explored to identify ideal candidates to be their first CEO, Americas. The candidates Brian searched for would be strategic, global-minded, mission-driven leaders with proven relevant experience to guide and shape a rapidly growing ministry. As the spokesperson for and “face” of the ministry, the hire would need to understand and commit themself to sound Biblical theology and have an eager heart for evangelism to encourage and challenge the rest of the staff.
Turning vision into action
In the process of narrowing down the applications, Matthew Brubaker was identified as a qualified candidate with more than 13 years of leadership experience and strengths in developing long-term visions and strategic plans.
The search team loved that he has significant leadership experience in a nonprofit with a global presence and has seen organizations through growth and expansion. He is passionate about making evangelism happen through equipping and connecting strategic partners for Kingdom impact.
Matthew clearly had the ability to turn Christianity Explored’s vision into action for the next several years as they enter into a new phase of growth.
Matthew leads into the future
Matthew Brubaker accepted the position of CEO, Americas at Christianity Explored, allowing the ministry to focus on growth and pursuing their mission of equipping God’s people for evangelism by knowing Jesus in the Bible and relationally. Matthew leads Christianity Explored’s pursuit of their mission as they promote resources, provide training, and work with international partners. Matthew has embraced the expansive role of leadership in all these roles as well as leading the staff at Christianity Explored.
