About the Global Student Minister

The Student Ministry Leader at the Smyrna Campus is responsible for leading and overseeing the student ministry, which includes creating an engaging, safe, and spiritually enriching environment for students. In addition to serving the Smyrna Campus, this position will provide direction, guidance, and support to the Student Ministry teams across all other LifePoint Church campuses. The goal is to develop a unified, impactful ministry that fosters spiritual growth, community, and outreach for students across all campuses.

The Global Student Minister’s responsibilities include:

Lead Smyrna Campus High School Ministry

• Provide leadership and support to the Smyrna Campus Middle School minister.
• Identify, recruit, train, nurture, and deploy volunteers and leaders for high school ministry.
• Serve as a primary teacher for Wednesday student ministry programming.
• Equipping others to teach and coordinate additional communicators.
• Evangelize, pastor, and disciple high school students.
• Shepherd and train parents of high school students.
• Engage and support local high schools in La Vergne and Smyrna in order to open doors for evangelism and discipleship of administrators, teachers, and students.

Lead Student Ministry for Central Staff

• Provide vision, direction, and support to all LifePoint Student teams.
• Coordinate with other student ministers in the development and implementation of systems for the assimilation and connection of new students.
• Coordinate with other student ministers in the development and implementation of systems for discipleship of students.
• Coordinate with other student ministers in the development and implementation of systems for leadership development of adult leaders and students.
• Coordinate with other student ministers in the development and implementation of a comprehensive communication strategy for all student ministry elements including communication to and with staff, students, parents, and leaders.
• Coordinate with other student ministers in the planning for all Student Ministry events and programming, including, but not limited to, mid-week, Sunday morning, camps, retreats, conferences, and sending/mission trips.

Education and experience

• Must have a level of education and experience commensurate with the position: bachelor’s degree preferred, and at least 5 years of related experience.

Personal characteristics and qualifications

• Always seeking to live in God’s presence through a consistent prayer life and Bible study.
• Passion for the local church generally and student ministry specifically.
• Ability to minister cross-culturally and lead leaders from various backgrounds.
• Ability to communicate and teach in all sizes of venues (1-2000 persons).
• Multi-tasking abilities, strong organizational skills, and ability to communicate clearly and confidently with individuals, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others and in team environments.
