Meet First Baptist Church Dallas 

Located in the heart of downtown, First Baptist Dallas is built on the Bible and continues its mission to transform the world with God’s Word, one life at a time. 

As a multi-generational church community, they meet needs through a variety of worship experiences, Sunday School and discipleship options, mission opportunities, fellowship, and outreach events.

Opportunity

First Baptist Dallas needed a Director of Facility Management who would oversee the campus buildings, grounds, parking garages, and more. This person would ultimately be responsible for the safety and cleanliness of the facilities to prepare the property for church services and ministry activities.

Solution

Vanderbloemen has partnered with First Baptist Dallas for many successful hires, and this time was no different. First Baptist Dallas partnered with Eric Albert, an Executive Search Consultant, who spent time getting to know their staff and what they needed in a Director of Facility Management. 

“With over 1.5 million square feet, they were in need of someone who understood the demand of a campus of that scope,” Eric says.

The team needed someone who would fit in with the entire staff. First Baptist Dallas hires Christ-centered professionals who are disciplined, talented, and committed to teamwork for the sake of their mission. They needed a candidate who was trustworthy and capable while sharing a heart for God’s Word with the entire staff. They hoped to find someone with experience and education to equip them for the multifaceted role.

Result

Eric and Will Hancock, an Executive Search Recruiter, pulled together a collection of highly qualified candidates, one First Baptist Church Dallas called a “stellar slate” to choose from. 

Tim Castilaw quickly stood out as their future Director of Facilities Management. With approximately 15 years of facility management, Tim fulfilled every hope of having a capable and experienced candidate join the team. 

“Timothy brought an abundance of skills and knowledge and leadership, and First Dallas was able to become their home,” Eric says.

“He spoke the language that they needed as he oversaw a bigger footprint, the same type of utilities, and even an airport.”

Coming from a similar role in Central Missouri, he and his family were thrilled to move to the DFW area.

“At the end of the day, Tim rose to the top from the very beginning,” Eric says. “They [the church] have been very pleased and thankful.”
