Calvary Baptist School Hires Head of School
Calvary Baptist School is a K-12th grade private school offering a challenging educational program in a nurturing Christian environment. The purpose of CBS is to develop godliness of character and action in the lives of our students. They desire to be an extension of Christian homes and to reinforce the Biblical values taught at church and home.
Students at Calvary Baptist School develop self-discipline, high morals, good habits, respect for students and staff, responsibility, and a love of God and country. One of the school’s main goals is to help students meet their potential for Jesus Christ in every area of their lives. The Bible, while not the only textbook, is taught and its principles are the foundation for all learning. CBS provides an education in core subject areas (math, science, English, history, and computers), along with a wide variety of electives.
Opportunity
Time was running out for Calvary Baptist School to find a new Head of School for the 2024/2025 school year. They needed to find the right candidate to fill the role in time without compromising the quality of their search and end result.
Someone they would trust in the Head of School role would be immediately responsible to the School Board for all academic, personnel, business, and developmental matters of the school. In many ways, this person would lead the school’s population toward educational and spiritual growth.
With a wide scope of responsibilities, the Head of School would need executive vision, communication skills, and a servant leader’s heart that should result from adequate education and experience.
Solution
The Search Team chose to expand its reach to find the right candidate in time by partnering with Vanderbloemen. Together with the teachers, parents, principal, and board of directors, the Search Team met with Executive Search Consultant Chantel McHenry to begin the search process.
Chantel and the Vanderbloemen team built the profile for the type of candidate who would fit both Calvary Baptist School’s professional needs and team culture. As well as the required qualifications, Head of School candidates would need confidence, dedication, and ownership to thrive at Calvary.
Chantel and Executive Search Recruiter Ellie Mixon identified four strong candidates to present to the Calvary Search Team. After further interviews, the Search Team quickly honed in on one shining candidate.
Without rush or compromise, Calvary had found their Head of School in time.
