First Baptist Church Broken Arrow Hires Senior Pastor
By: Vanderbloemen
BROKEN ARROW, Oklahoma– First Baptist Church of Broken Arrow has expanded its leadership team with a key hire, with Dr. Matt Brooks stepping in to serve as their new Senior Pastor. First Baptist Church of Broken Arrow serves more than 1,600 members each week.
Vanderbloemen, serving clients with a greater purpose, including churches, schools, nonprofits, family offices, and values-based businesses, loves the whole church and is honored to have partnered with First Baptist Church Broken Arrow on this vital and important hire.
Matt previously served as the Associate Pastor and Online Campus Pastor at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas. Ordained in 2004, Matt brings a range of other senior pastor leadership experiences to his new role at First Baptist Church of Broken Arrow. Matt and his wife Brenda, along with their four children, are excited to join the community of faith at FBCBA.
Established in 1904, First Baptist Church is a multigenerational congregation, serving the Christian community in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
Through the years, FBCBA has established other churches and assisted struggling local churches to help them re-establish a strong foundation. In 2001, FBCBA built on an already strong missions foundation and became a Global Focus church, literally following Acts 1:8 as their mission strategy. FBCBA also has a satellite campus, Community Baptist Church (CBC), in Coweta, Oklahoma. CBC is experiencing explosive growth and will break ground this fall to construct a new worship and education facility. This facility will also be built debt-free, the same way that FBCBA has been since 1990, enabling them to use their funds for missions and ministries to bless their community instead of paying off debts.
FBCBA emphasizes evangelism, missions, and discipleship. FBCBA is purposefully a multi-generational church and seeks to provide ministry and worship opportunities to both traditional and non-traditional church attenders of all ages and backgrounds.
First Baptist Church of Broken Arrow believes that with God, “the best is always yet to be.” Vanderbloemen is thrilled for FBCBA in this new season of leadership and looks forward with them in anticipation for all God will do through a new visionary Senior Pastor.
