Thomas Flitsch, the firm's principal, brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team. With a Bachelor of Architecture and a Bachelor of Science in Building Sciences, as well as an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship, he is uniquely qualified to lead our firm. Thomas is a Certified Access Specialist and a registered architect in multiple states, and he is actively involved in the architectural community as a member of the American Institute of Architects.

About the Architect:

We are currently seeking an Architectural Designer - Design Associate to join our team. This is a partner-track position that offers excellent opportunities for professional growth and development. The successful candidate will play a key role in assisting our architects with design documents, construction documents, reports, and inspections. We encourage our associates to participate in the NCARB Architectural Experience Program and work towards licensure. With hard work and dedication, our associates can achieve partnership and contribute significantly to the future of our firm.

What You Bring: 

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Architecture degree from an accredited university, accepted by the Architectural Review Board for licensure as a registered architect.

• Proven ability to produce high-quality drawings for design presentations, construction documentation, or construction projects.

• Strong technical skills in AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, and other CAD programs.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients, team members, and stakeholders.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to address challenges and find creative solutions.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Google Workspace applications.

• Experience working in a collaborative environment and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Commitment to providing exceptional client service and building strong relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience in construction or on construction projects.

• Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).

• A strong understanding of architectural design principles and building codes.

• A passion for sustainable design and a commitment to environmentally friendly practices.

• Active participation in the architectural community through professional organizations or volunteering.

Westlake Village is a hamlet within the City of Thousand Oaks and a portion of the Westlane Village hamlet crosses over the County line into Los Angeles County offering a unique suburban living environment.  The City of Thousand Oaks offers a serene and upscale lifestyle nestled amidst rolling hills and picturesque landscapes.  Famous for heritage oak trees that can be over 250 years old, many streets and hillsides are dappled with majestic trees. Thousand Oaks  is surrounded by suburban towns like Moorpark, Aguoura, Oak Park, Camarillo and Malibu, on the other side of the Santa Monica Mountains.  These towns offer great schools, good parks and modest priced housing, relatively speaking in California’s Real Estate Market.   Moorpark for example is listed as one of the safest cities in the USA and is where Mr. Flitsch has lived for over 25 years.

Thousand Oaks has a mediterranean  climate with mild winters, moderate summers and nearly 350 days of sunshine.  Many of the living areas surrounding thousand oaks receive the ocean influenced marine layer in the summer that keeps the temperatures lower than other inland areas of Southern CA. 

Although located roughly 40 miles north of Los Angeles, Thousand Oaks has contributed to many Movies and TV shows.  It's not uncommon to see a production being filmed in the vicinity.  Located nearly 50 miles south of Santa Barbara, this area is fast becoming its own wine region with vineyards and tasting shops.
