The Role: Development Director

The Source supports, cares for, and equips women by providing high-quality, whole-person health services. We're a 501c3 nonprofit organization that operates a network of high-quality, life-affirming women’s health clinics across Texas. Our organization has been serving the Austin and Houston communities for 40 years, and we are committed to innovating in the way that care is delivered to women in need. We are governed by an independent board of directors and led by a team of passionate, diverse, and highly skilled professionals committed to serving the whole woman.

About the Development Director:
The Director of Development is responsible for all activities and tasks related to the maintenance of current donors and the cultivation of new donor relationships for the Houston region. They will champion the mission and vision of The Source to increase our network of support and raise funds to support the furthering of the ministry.
The Development Director's Responsibilities Include:

Cultivate relationships with potential and current donors.

Donor care to develop and maintain ongoing relationships with supporters.

Oversee special events, fundraisers, and annual fundraising events in Houston.

Revenue generation through relationship-based fundraising.

Collaborate with the Outreach team on church partnerships.

Consistent communication with all supporters.

Develop and execute an annual fundraising plan.

Oversee CRM, donor tracking, and manage donor pipeline.

Donor Thank You notes and follow-ups.

Track all donor communications and touch points in CRM regularly (including meetings, phone calls, text messages, emails, and thank you notes)
Management

Provides training and support to the development team as roles evolve.

Report to CEO on donor campaign outcomes and ROI.

Manage Houston fundraising budget.
General

Professionally represents the values of The Source through words, actions, and decisions.

Oversees the research, identification, solicitation, and stewardship of potential foundations, churches, and individual donors.

Follow all pledges to close, and collect funds committed to the organization.
What You Bring:

Education & Experience

3+ years of experience in nonprofit development, sales, or advancement
-
Proven experience in raising funds.

Bachelor’s degree.

Proven ability to interact with and influence philanthropic leaders. Pre-existing professional relationships with the philanthropic community is a plus.

Experience motivating and managing highly talented staff and building a Houston development team to reach maximum impact on donor development.

Some expert knowledge of trends in philanthropy and major gifts.

Ability to work cross-functionally with various internal and external constituents.

Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines.

Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Proficiency in database management, preferably Salesforce and Microsoft Office Suite, among other computer skills, and CRM experience, as required.

Located in Houston with willingness to travel to Austin one to two times a month.
