The Midtown Campus 

Grace Midtown is our newest campus located in Bryan, TX, a community with a strong and growing Hispanic population. We are within 2 miles of Texas A&M University and Blinn College, where more than 18,000 Hispanic students attend. Our focal strategy is to be a truly bilingual and multiethnic campus that is transcultural and multigenerational. But what does that actually mean? By multiethnic, we mean a community of people from different ethnicities working together in gospel life and mission. We are a bilingual campus that disciples people in English and Spanish. We are a transcultural community that celebrates cultural diversity and our spiritual unity in Christ. We are a multigenerational campus that helps people of all ages to find and follow Jesus in a way that is relevant to their language and culture. In other words: we are many peoples… but we are one family… somos una familia!

About the Midtown Campus Teaching Pastor:

Grace Bible Church is seeking a dynamic and spiritually mature Teaching Pastor who is proficient in both English and Spanish. This individual will be responsible for delivering biblically sound, engaging, and relevant sermons, leading campus staff and staff meetings, and providing pastoral care to our diverse congregation. The ideal candidate will have a deep love for God’s Word, a passion for teaching, and the ability to lead a staff team and connect with people from different cultural backgrounds.

The Midtown Campus Teaching Pastor's Responsibilities Include: 

Leadership

  • Lead the campus staff team and team gatherings

  • With the Senior Pastor and Strategy Team, set strategic goals and plans for the campus

  • Provide leadership to Campus Elder Board Meetings

  • Serve as the primary Midtown campus representative to the Senior Pastor and the Elder Board

  • Cast both church-wide and campus-specific vision for the congregation

  • With key campus staff, provide leadership for the campus staff and volunteer leaders

Preaching

  • Serve as the primary teacher for the worship services of the Midtown campus, with the ability to teach/preach in both Spanish and English

  • Collaborate with the Senior Pastor and other Teaching Pastors to plan the preaching schedule, develop new messages, and coordinate substitute teachers and special events

  • Partner with the Worship and Communications teams to coordinate all aspects of the worship services at the campus

Community Outreach

  • Initiate and execute strategies to develop deeper ties into the local Hispanic community (including the college student demographic)

  • Build relationships with other Hispanic ministries and churches to become a partner and resource in B/CS

Church-wide Strategic Plans

  • Help identify, recruit, develop, and coach key ministry leaders

  • Cast vision and provide oversight and care for ministries at the campus

Church-wide Initiatives

  • Coordinate with Executive Team on church-wide ministry initiatives

  • Coordinate with Global Outreach to enable global engagement opportunities at  the campus

General Pastoral Duties

  • Model Grace Bible Church’s mission, vision, values and a lifestyle of personal discipleship at work and in the community

  • Attend leadership, campus, and team meetings

  • Attend Pastor/Minister retreats

  • Attend Elders meetings, as needed

  • Be available for counseling and Minister of the Day (MOD)

  • Teach in worship services or small group setting, as needed

  • Perform weddings, dedications, baptisms, visitations, and funerals as needed and requested

  • Attend other church events, as needed

What You Bring: 

Education & Experience

  • Undergraduate Degree - Required

  • Seminary Degree - Required (ThM is strongly preferred)

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in general ministry leadership preferred

  • Minimum of 6 years full-time experience in this/related role preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years of staff/team leadership experience preferred, with demonstrated effectiveness and a teachable spirit

Personal Characteristics & Qualifications

  • Meets Elder character qualifications (1 Tim. 3; Titus 1) including healthy marriage and family, as applicable

  • Ability to effectively lead team toward quality decision-making & vision implementation

  • Ability to mentor and train staff and ministry leaders

  • Experienced in personal discipleship

  • Effective interpersonal, pastoral, and relational skills

  • Credential: Ordination by a church of like faith and order strongly preferred

  • GBC Church member (as soon as practical after joining staff)

  • Theological perspective that is grace-oriented

  • Committed to the Constitution, Doctrinal Statement, Mission, Values, and Vision

  • Proven effective teaching and public speaking gift/ability

  • Ability to teach academic theology at a lay level

  • Proven ability to submit to and implement policies decided by the Board of Elders
