Founded over 25 years ago, Crossroads Church experienced rapid growth under the leadership of its founding pastor. In just one year, the congregation grew  to over 1,000 as the church focused on welcoming new members and fostering a connection with Jesus Christ. As the church continued to expand its reach, it also deepened its spiritual foundation through a commitment to theological and Biblical education. Today, Crossroads is renowned for its balance of outreach and discipleship, making it a truly "deep and wide" community of faith.

Blessed with the consistent leadership of just two pastors since its inception, Crossroads Church has benefited from diverse styles and strengths. Over the past decade, the church has significantly expanded its ministry, launching ministries focused on global and local missions, community outreach, and multiple campuses, including an online platform. This growth has been accompanied by an increase in staff to support these new initiatives.

About the Lead Pastor:

The  Lead Pastor at Crossroads Church will have the primary responsibilities of leadership, vision, and biblical teaching.  The Lead Pastor will be the point leader of the Executive Team and is generally responsible for the global management of the ministry staff.  He will be a spiritually mature leader who demonstrates a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and effectively communicates the Word of God.  He will demonstrate strong leadership skills by collaboratively working with the ministry to align mission, vision, and values, and report directly to the Board of Elders.

The Lead Pastor's Responsibilities Include: 

Communicator 

  • Serves as primary Teaching Pastor at weekend services

  • Provide transformational teaching/preaching and life application that is uncompromisingly committed to the integrity of the Word  

  • Work closely with the teaching team to develop and plan consistent preaching themes and series

  • Effectively communicates the Word  on a regular basis

  • Cultivate a culture of seeking God’s truth in scripture as a life pattern

  • Preach in a manner that addresses culturally relevant and timely spiritual issues 

Vision 

  • Collaborates with the Senior Leadership Team,  Campus Pastors, and  Elders in regard to all things related to the vision and future of Crossroads

  • Cast and consistently articulate a clear vision of the ministry of Crossroads 

  • Passionately and collaboratively implements the vision 

  • Exemplify passion and professional acumen that supports the overall vision and the church's role in God's Kingdom

Leadership

  • Must be willing and able to lead change

  • Lead in a way that fosters healthy, unified, and collaborative relationships with others

  • Work closely with church leadership to identify ministry priorities that align with the vision, mission, and core values of Crossroads

  • Demonstrated knowledge of,  and experience with multisite churches is highly preferred 

  • Have a Christ-like presence at all ministry/Elder board meetings that encourages those present to seek unity

  • Meet with and mentor staff members and/or key leaders on a continuing basis

  • Partner with other regional pastors and marketplace leaders to advance the gospel

  • Participate as needed in professional staff recruitment initiatives

What You Bring: 

The following describes many of the characteristics of the ideal candidate for the Lead Pastor:

Education & Experience

  • Master of Divinity or higher from an accredited evangelical seminary.

  • At least 7-10 years of proven successful leadership in a pastoral position of a large growing multisite church with multiple staff

  • Meets biblical qualifications of an elder along with specific values of the church.

  • Have an intimate and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ

  • Demonstrated lifestyle that is consistent with Biblical principles of good stewardship

  • Spiritual gifts of teaching, encouraging, administration, organization, and discernment

  • Passionate for reaching the lost in the Mansfield area  and beyond

  • The demonstrated ability to interpret, articulate, and share the Gospel in compelling, Christ-centered sermons and other forms of communication

  • Experienced and gifted in preaching and teaching to believers and seekers

  • Dynamic and engaging, with a chemistry that fits the culture and theology of Crossroads Church 

  • The ability to work and collaborate with others, incorporating both authority and influence

  • Invest in deeper connections with staff members, church leaders and their families as warranted

  • Has a deep desire to cultivate the next generation of leaders 

  • A heart for multi-generational ministry and knows how  to leverage this as an asset in the advancement of spiritual and numerical growth 

  • A proven leader of leaders; team builder and collaborative with staff

  • Facilitate a culture of spiritual growth and mutual accountability in the church

The Mansfield area is conveniently located on two major highways and sits between two major cities, Columbus and Cleveland. Other major cities such as Cincinnati, Dayton, Pittsburgh, and Chicago, are also within driving distance.
