The Role: Pastor of Campuses
The History of 12Stone is rich with faith, risk, and blessing.
12Stone Church was founded as Crossroads Church by Kevin Myers on November 1, 1987. With his wife Marcia, and three couples, Kevin relocated from Michigan to Greater Gwinnett County to plant a church that would be relevant, fun, challenging, and impacting for generations.
After five years of worshiping in several temporary facilities, the Collins Hill worship center allowed them to put down their roots and serve hundreds in the community. During this season, their vision was to reach as many people as possible, for as long as God allows us to serve.
God guided the church to change the name to 12Stone Church, marking a new beginning! Illustrating its mission, "12Stone" served to reclaim its distinctiveness and gain ground in biblical heritage. The church crossed its own symbolic "Jordan River" crossing (Joshua 4) and took possession of the Hwy 20 Campus and the expanding mission: to carry the favor of God as a force for good to cover their county and beyond.
Since its beginning, 12Stone has seen God move and work in many wonderful ways – the eight people who shared the heart of 12Stone and saw the church's vision, through incredible growth, the opening of nine campuses (soon to be 10) campuses, and much more. They are excited to see how God continues to move in and through them, as they are faithful in expanding their leadership with the addition of a new Pastor of Campuses. 12Stone Church is praying to reach the next generation to carry on 12Stone's mission of reaching as many people as possible for as long as they can.
What do the 12 stones mean?
After God held back the flood-stage waters of the Jordan River, the children of Israel crossed over on dry ground into the Promised Land. Once on the other side, one leader from each tribe took a stone from the middle of the river and stacked it on the shore. This twelve-stone memorial would remind future generations of the rescuing hand of God.
12Stone Church exists so future generations will know the rescuing hand of God.
