The Role: Student Pastor

Meet The Bridge Fellowship: 

The Bridge is a 1250+ person church that launched in August 2020. We long to see a gospel movement that reaches every person in the Hill Country and is carried to the ends of the earth. Our approach is simple: love people and faithfully preach God’s word. In 3.5 years, we have experienced rapid growth, and our team is expanding. In 2023, we purchased 18 acres of land and are expecting to break ground on our new building by early 2025.

About the Student Pastor: 

The Role: 

We are looking for a Student Pastor that is passionate about seeing middle school and high school students celebrate, apply and extend the gospel in their community. They will be a proactive, experienced leader who sets vision, recruits & equips leaders and grows both Middle School and High School ministries. This role may grow over time to include other responsibilities based on gifting, experience, and needs.

The Student Pastor Responsibilities Include: 

Student Discipleship

  • Champion weekly youth gatherings, camps, retreats, and other events throughout the year

  • Primary communicator to students and will occasionally preach on rotation with the pastoral staff.

  • Responsible for communicating, planning, and executing excellent ministry

  • Develop rhythms and routines that carry the culture of The Bridge

  • Plan a ministry calendar for discipleship and events at least 6 months in advance.

Build Great Teams

  • Recruit, develop, train, and retain leaders/volunteers and ministry staff

  • Know, love, and care for those in your sphere of influence

  •  Encourage and empower volunteers both individually and as a group on a regular basis.

Cultivate Relational Ministry

  • Cultivate a relational ministry culture built on trust

  • Connect with students on a regular basis outside of regular programming.

  • Connect with parents of students on a regular basis

  • Celebrate milestones as an effort to cultivate maturity

What You Bring: 

The following describes many of the characteristics of the ideal candidate for the Student Pastor:

Education & Experience

  • An undergraduate degree is required 

  • A master's degree from an accredited seminary  (completed or in process)  is preferred but not required.

  • 3+ years of experience working in student ministry and leading staff. 

Personal Characteristics & Qualifications

  • Passionate about students involved in discipleship environments, small group leaders built up, and parents being resourced.

  • Confident, self-starter and a team builder. 

  • Able to work independently, and as a team member, while using discretion in decision-making and sound judgment in problem solving. 

  • Demonstrates outstanding interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills (verbal and written). 

  • Committed to the vision and mission of the church. 

  • Lives a lifestyle congruent with the biblical requirements for leaders.
