PODCAST | Transition Decisions and Succession with Shaun Marshall
By: Vanderbloemen
This week, our founder and CEO William Vanderbloemen has a conversation with Reverend Shaun Marshall on the critical components of successful transition in ministry.
Shaun attended Indiana Wesleyan University, and after feeling called to ministry, served as a church planting coach and then pastor within the Evangelical Covenant Church denomination. He then served as the Director of Congregational Vitality for the ECC. Shawn founded the Manifest Network and works as a consultant for Navigate Consulting.
At Vanderbloemen, we’re passionate about planning well for succession in order to ease the often difficult process of pastoral transition. On today’s podcast conversation, Reverend Marshall discusses the difficulties that accompany change, seeking wisdom from God, the necessity of discipleship, and how to move forward in service rather than staying stagnant. His advice and understanding of succession is incredibly valuable for those in ministry, and we hope you can find truth encouragement in his interview!
And remember, if you’re a pastor, no matter how far away succession seems, it’s never too early to begin planning. As a next step, check out William’s book, Next: Pastoral Succession That Works which contains research, success stories, and practical steps.
