The Vanderbloemen Leadership Podcast brings you interviews from leaders across the theological spectrum of the global Church. Our goal is to bring you thought-provoking interviews that encourage you, challenge you, and help you build, run, and keep great teams.
In today's episode of the Vanderbloemen Leadership Podcast, William Vanderbloemen, founder of Vanderbloemen Search Group and author of Culture Wins: The Roadmap to an Irresistible Workplace, talks with Gina McClain and Jessica Bealer, authors of Don't Quit: The Best Things in Ministry Come Over Time.
Jessica Bealer has been leading children’s ministry for seventeen years. The last five years have been spent overseeing standards, systems, staffing, and atmosphere for the children’s ministry of Elevation Church. She has overseen the launch of nearly twenty locations, and is considered a specialist in kidmin multisite. Jessica is a mother of four and a published author. She is married to Frank, the CEO of Phase Family Centers and Executive Director of Leadership Development at Orange. Together, they are the founders of FamilyMinistry.Church.
Gina McClain is a speaker, writer, and Children's Ministry Director at Faith Promise Church in Knoxville, TN. Her marriage to Kyle McClain keeps her marginally sane while their three kids (Keegan, Josie, and Connor) keep her from taking herself too seriously. Her driving motivator is to lead Christ-followers to embrace and foster ministry in their home. If the living room is the hub of ministry, the neighborhood is different. If the neighborhood is different, the city is different. If the city is different, the church cannot be contained.
Jessica and Gina talk with William about:
The moment that you feel like quitting, you need to remember that God is at work.
When we are at our lowest, when we are hurting, when we don’t understand, when we’re confused, God is saying, rely on me.
I think one of the plans of the enemy is to convince you you’re the only one going through something.
If you’re going to stick it out for the long haul, you’re going to need to appreciate the people around you, so that they have your back and you have a support system.
