Vanderbloemen’s Premium Partner for Succession Consulting
After 9-years of providing leadership for a faith-based nonprofit organization in the late 80’s and early 90’s, Tim Stevens joined the staff of Granger Community Church – at the time, a small church start-up with a congregation of 250 meeting in a movie theater. Over the next 20 years, Tim served as the Executive Pastor, leading a team that saw the church grow to more than 6,000 people attending in person each week, with an impact on tens of thousands around the world.
In 2014, William Vanderbloemen invited Tim to join the Vanderbloemen team as Vice President of Consulting. Over the next 6 years, the consulting team would more than double, and they would serve hundreds of churches and organizations. Tim developed systems and processes to make the work more effective and more efficient. In addition to leading the team and working with some of our larger clients, he also built out our process to help churches with succession planning, and did so for scores of churches.
Fast forward to 2020 as the world was shutting down from a global pandemic, Tim was finishing up the successful search for Willow Creek’s new senior pastor. God put such a burden on Tim’s heart for the people of Willow–that he couldn’t ignore an invitation from Willow to join the team as Executive Pastor and start the hard work of rebuilding the staff and the church. William and Tim prayed together, and agreed it was something he should say “yes” to pursue.
The relationship between Tim and Vanderbloemen remained strong, so it makes sense that Tim would call William in his transition from Willow (more on that story here) to see if there was a way they could partner together again.
Tim has been coaching, consulting, and writing for more than 20 years, and now is pouring all his efforts into LeadingSmart to serve churches full-time. We are glad to announce Tim Stevens is now Vanderbloemen’s Premium Partner for Succession Planning.
