La Croix Church, Cape Girardeau, MO
Twenty-five years ago, a 28 year-old pastor and his young family were appointed to Cape Girardeau to plant a new church. There were no people and no buildings, but there was a dream. No one knew what to expect. No one had an idea of what God was about to do. Today, La Croix is a dynamic, Christ-centered church averaging nearly 2,100 in weekly attendance. While La Croix uses contemporary and timely methods to proclaim the gospel, they unashamedly hold to the timeless truths of Christianity.
When you arrive at La Croix, you will experience a warm, friendly, and active congregation whose mission is to lead people to whole-heartedly follow Jesus Christ. La Croix’s focus has always been on the seeker, those people who are outside of the walls of the church. There is extra effort put into creating an atmosphere in which visitors feel comfortable inviting their friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers to come with them so they will hear and know that wherever they’ve been or whatever they’ve done, they matter to God and He can make a difference in their lives.
At La Croix, visitors can expect a 60-minute worship experience designed to equip and inspire adults to live the life God intended for them. The message is intended to uniquely communicate the Word of God in a way that is both practical and relevant to people’s daily lives. It is a casual environment with current music, quality media, and an applicable message.
The purpose of the Worship Leader is to create sacred space through the use of art and music in worship. The role will support the La Croix Church vision by helping to lead, create, and execute engaging, Christ-centered musical worship experiences. The Worship Leader will support the overall weekend services and creative elements that enhance the weekend experience. The successful candidate will be able to work collaboratively with the Pastors, the Technical team, and the Music and Arts volunteers to create a worship environment that will stimulate participation, growth, and connection among the congregation. Formal education is not a predetermining factor for the selection of the new Worship Leader. However, a Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Arts, Music, or related field is preferred.
